We're making some updates to our Logto plans to better support growing teams and keep things sustainable for the long run. Here's what you need to know:
A refresh token is a type of token defined in OIDC. It lets you get a new access token when the current one expires or becomes invalid.
To make token usage simpler and more predictable for our customers, refresh tokens are no longer counted toward your token consumption. We only bill for access tokens now.
This makes it easier to estimate your token usage based on your monthly active users (MAU) and how active they are. You can expect your token count to drop by about half in the upcoming billing cycles.
We made this change to better align with what our customers care about and to deliver more value in a simpler way.
Since we've changed how tokens are calculated, we've adjusted the token quota accordingly.

Because refresh tokens are no longer counted toward your usage, the Free plan still includes up to 50,000 monthly active users (MAU).
RBAC (Role-based access control) will no longer be available on the Free plan after October 1. In the new Pro plan, Role-based access control is available as an add-on ($32/month) and you can use unlimited global roles.
We recommend taking action by either:
We won't delete these entities from your Free plan. They'll remain usable unless you remove them yourself. However, if your Free plan tenant continues to use RBAC more than 3 months after the cutoff, your free plan tenant may be suspended. Please plan ahead to avoid any service interruptions.

For Free plan users: Want to keep using RBAC? Upgrade to Pro before the grace period ends. Prefer to stay on Free? No problem. Your core authentication features will continue to work, just without RBAC.
